Bee Balm

Famous for its brilliant red flower, bee balm (monarda, also called wild bergamot) can also have lavender, white or dark pink blooms. It grows 18 to 24 inches tall. It’s a favorite of hummingbirds and other pollinators. It is an herbaceous perennial, native to North America, and a member of the mint family. The aromatic gray-green leaves may be used in teas. Bee balm has been used as medicine extensively by many Native American tribes.
